Alea Horst – Fotografin mit Herz

Alea Horst, Jahrgang 82: „2015 war ich eine Hochzeitsfotografin, die keine Ausrede mehr hatte, warum sie Menschen nicht hilft, die im Mittelmeer ertrinken. Ich habe mich damals als naive Nothelferin aufgemacht, um und habe nicht erwartet, was ich sah, roch und erlebte. Ich konnte nicht mehr in mein altes Leben zurück, nachdem ich das erste Mal im Leben Menschen aus dem Wasser zog und viele Nächte im Lager Moria auf Lesbos arbeitete. Seitdem habe ich über 30 internationale Hilfs Projekte unterstützt, vorwiegend als Fotografin und Geschichtensammlerin, nicht selten zusätzlich als Nothelferin. Das ich irgendwann 7 Jahre später einen Spielplatz in Afghanistan baue und für 400 Kinder Schulranzen verteile, hätte ich niemals für möglich gehalten. Ich bin heute Fotografin für Hilfsorganisationen, Menschenrechtsaktivistin und Autorin, vieles davon mache ich nach wie vor ehrenamtlich. Mein Buch: „manchmal male ich ein Haus für uns“ über Kinder in Flüchtlingslagern war für den Deutschen Jugendliterautrpreis nominiert. Im Dezember 2023 verlieh mir der Bundespräsident das Bundesverdienstkreuz am Bande für meinen außergewöhnlichen Einsatz für Menschenrechte.

Mit meinem Buch-Manchmal male ich ein Haus für uns- Europas Vergessene Kinder, gebe ich Kindern an der Europäischen Außengrenze eine Stimme und ein Gesicht.

Seit einem Jahr habe ich den kleinen eigenen Verein: Alea.e.V. gegründet, über den ich Spendengeld für Afghanistan gesammelt habe.
